Gambling Cheat Items

So, while these sit in the "Other" section of your inventory, I'd like to dedicate a small section to explaining cheat items, how to get them, and how they work. Cheat items have been around since the early games in some form or another, and are generally used within the game, or just before you begin the game, to beat back that eternal witch known as "Lady Luck".

Still, like anything else in life, proper use is important, so let's take each one by one.

Bust Amulet
  • Game: Blackjack
  • Found:
    • Tachibana Mahjong, if you get a Half Flush when Yurika asks for it.
  • Use: What this does is a little iffy, actually. So, as is normal in blackjack, you each get your two cards and try to get to 21. What this item does is force the dealer's first card turn into a 22, meaning he busts. That said, it does NOT prevent the dealer from getting 17s through 20s or from them getting a blackjack on the first two cards. All it means is that if they draw, then they'll bust, but they can still win on those first two cards if they're higher than you, and it doesn't prevent you from busting nor affect your draws in any way.. I usually use this to get the high betting rolling, even though it's not perfect. It works for seven hands altogether.
Blackjack Amulet
  • Game: Blackjack
  • Found:
    • Tachibana Mahjong, if you get Nine Gates when Yurika asks for it.
  • Use: Straight up just gives you a blackjack for five hands in a row. Really good for raking in the chips. To my knowledge there's no caveat about this one: you're just going to win. I imagine it's possible that the dealer might be given a blackjack also and you push, but I've never seen it happen. I usually use it in tandem with the Bust Amulet. Let him bust for the bets to get high, then throw out the Blackjack Amulet once it wears off and get five super high winning hands.
Royal Joker Card
  • Game: Poker
  • Found:
    • Tachibana Mahjong, if you get All Triplets when Yurika asks for it.
    • Reward for maxing out the Friendship with Voluptuous Woman.
  • Use: What this does is makes the next card turn in the community cards to be as advantageous to you as possible. The warning here is that I suggest you not use it before the flop (first three cards). If you do, then you'll likely get a flop of three-of-a-kind, which is a nice hand, but it's a hand that everyone else has, too, so it's not all that helpful. I suggest using it for the fourth card (turn) or the fifth card (river) if you're one card away from a good hand (like a straight, a flush, or a full house). Even so, getting a good amount of cash in poker is reliant on your opponents making big bets, and constantly re-raising, so even if you use the card, there's no guarantee it's going to be a huge payout if the opponents fold. Remember that you can only use it during the betting phase (when it asks for your Raise/Call/Fold). Press Triangle then to use it before the next card turn.
10-10-1 Charm
  • Game: Oicho-kabu
  • Found:
    • Onodera's Wares for 10,000 SP
  • Use: What this does is that the first deal in the game will give you a 0, a 0, and a 1. This is an absolute winning hand that trumps everything else. You'll get 20 times your bet on it. What I suggest doing is saving beforehand, using it, then hoping that your first spot is the dealer (it most usually is for me, but I imagine it doesn't come up every time). Starting as the dealer means that instead of making your own bet and winning that (which there is a ceiling on), you instead get the bets of the other three players, which collectively will be bigger than the ceiling, meaning mad cash.
Triple Yokan
  • Game: Oicho-kabu
  • Found:
    • Onodera's Wares for 10,000 SP
  • Use: Similar to the 10-10-1 Charm, basically, only you get triples, which is also a very high winning hand and gets you 3 times the bet. Same deal here, hope for dealer.
Lucky Hanafuda Card
  • Game: Koi-koi
  • Found:
    • Tachibana Mahjong, if you get Pinfu (No-Points Hand) when Yurika asks for it.
  • Use: I'm pretty sure what this does is ensure that you will always have a match on the playing field for your cards in your hand, and that any card you flip over from the deck will also always match something in the playing field. I think. Now, this doesn't guarantee you a high scoring hand, but it's likely you will win that first hand simply by brute force. It only lasts for the one hand. So, if you use it, I suggest declaring "koi" so you can get more points off the hand with your good draws. I suggest in general playing koi-koi as a three round game so your opponent doesn't have a chance to catch up if you get ahead early.
Nine Gates Tile
  • Game: Mahjong
  • Found:
    • Onodera's Wares for 10,000 SP
  • Use: Use it at the beginning of the game and your very first hand you'll be dealt Nine Gates and the tile you draw will be a pairing tile to complete the hand. Declare Tsumo and you'll get Pure Nine Gates and a Heavenly Hand (dealt a winning hand right at the outset). This is a triple yakuman, and you'll get a bajillion points, which ends the game right there since you clean everyone else out. Definitely use this on Tachibana's Hard table to get as much money as possible. Also consider saving it for when Yurika asks you to get it. Satisfying that condition will net you a Blackjack Amulet, which leads to even more gains.
The Basics of Shogi
  • Game: Shogi
  • Found:
    • Onodera's Wares for 30 SP
  • Use: I'm not even sure the game considers this strictly a cheating item, since it's inexpensive and not consumed when you use it, but you do have to press Triangle during play to use it, so here it goes in this section. What this will do is mark in blue the piece you should move and the place you should put it. The only problem is that shogi AI only goes so fast, so as early as your third move the AI might spend a considerable amount of time thinking up the next move. Just be patient and do something else while waiting for it to figure out a move. I got a victory using it and so can you. It'll help for the completion metrics.
